Here are some answers to the questions most of our listeners are asking: |
| Q |
What happened to you guys? |
97 Underground, 96.7 FM WHVY, moved its operations to Grasonville, MD (just across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge from Annapolis) in the early 1990s to take advantage of a stronger broadcast signal at 103.1 FM and became known as 103.1 The Underground. Eventually, the station changed its call letters to WXZL, then changed formats and The Underground disbanded.
Over the past few years, 97 Underground was resurrected at Dundalk High School - where it originally began - on the radio at 1630 AM and in cyberspace at 97Underground.Com by the same people who unleashed it on the general public in 1987.
97Underground.Com is now a completely independent station with no content restrictions.
No corporate ownership (or censorship). Still local. Same attitude. We're back!

| Q |
Why do you want to come back now? |
The fire never really burned out. Like you, we've always loved the music, but the timing and the technology weren't right to bring the station back the way we wanted to until now. We're psyched about all of the positive emails we've gotten and we know that you'll expect the same quality that 97 Underground delivered back in the day. And we aim to exceed!
There is a lot of great new Pure Rock out there, as most of you who have tuned in over the past few months have heard. You can bet that 97Underground.Com will be playing it first.

| Q |
When will 97 Underground return to the radio airwaves so I can hear it wherever I go? |
At this time, we're totally focusing on making 97Underground.Com the best Pure Rock station on the World Wide Web. There's a lot of red tape involved with starting back up the way we'd like to on the FM radio dial. Cyberspace became the best way to go until all of that other stuff can be worked out. Plus, a lot of listeners who couldn't tune us in before can do so now, from Maryland to California to Germany to Japan. And a special Shout Out Loud to all of our Armed Forces stationed overseas - Thank You and Keep On Rockin'! We wish you a safe return home, and soon. |

| Q |
Is 97Underground.Com hiring and to whom can I send my resume? |
We are seeking key promotions and sales personnel. For details, send us an email here.
The need for On Air DJs for 97Underground.Com will be evaluated and determined as the station evolves. So far, people are digging what we're doing, so we'll wait and see.
We do encourage everyone who can contribute something to the success of the station to send a resume via email to 97Underground@Comcast.Net. After a P.O. Box is set up, we'll be able to receive resumes by regular mail.

| Q |
How is the music chosen for 97Underground.Com? |
Mike, our Program Director, has the pulse of both the local and national music scenes and has contacts at all of the record labels who are in line with what we play on 97Underground.Com.
Just like back in the day, we play what we think is cool, while keeping an ear open for the listeners. Being independent gives us the freedom to get you the best Pure Rock, unfiltered.
We are *YOUR* radio station. That has not changed and never will.
| Q |
Will 97 Underground.Com take requests for songs we want to hear? |
As we said before, we are *YOUR* radio station and we are open to requests for songs as long as we have the song in our library and it fits the vibe of what we're playing at the time; because of that, we can't guarantee exactly when it will be played.
Feel free to email us at 97Underground@Comcast.Net with a request, as we are totally interested in what you want to listen to.

| Q |
What was that Kick Ass song I just heard on 97Underground.Com? |
Just below the metallic navigation bar on our homepage, there is a link to a pop-up window that displays whichever song is playing live on 97Underground.Com. In the future, we may be able to display a backlog of songs, but we'll have to see what that will entail. Thanks to Rakesh Rai at Grey Coconut for making this window possible! |
