Here are some more answers to the questions our listeners are asking: |
|
|
|
| Q |
Does 97Underground.Com play songs by local bands? |
|
As a rule for the time being, no; at least not in our regular rotation.
The main reason is that we simply don't have the resources and time to listen to the multitude of songs that could be sent our way, regardless of how good they all may be.
We realize that we are going to need the support of the bands in the area to get the music climate in town back to a respectable level, so we are discussing some ways that we can include the local underground rock scene in what we do. We check out local gigs on a regular basis and the best way to get our attention is by rippin' it up on stage, like Alive-n-Kickin' did at the Zu this past Spring. Trust us; if we buzz, so will you.

| Q |
How can I co-promote my event with 97Underground.Com? |
|
We are always open for opportunities to showcase 97Underground.Com via co-promotions at clubs throughout the area, but please keep in mind that the music and atmosphere need to reflect what we do and play; we owe this to our listeners.
If you've read every Q&A up to this point, here it comes again: you can contact us here with any inquiries you may have. We'll listen to just about any idea, but please be brief, yet concise in your email and leave a phone number and time that's best to call you back if you need to discuss something at length. We may have a few good ideas to kick around, too.

| Q |
Can I find 97Underground.Com merchandise at my local music store? |
|
Naturally, that notion has crossed our minds. However, we haven't fully ramped up the promotions machine to that level just yet. We do have a limited run of Black 97Underground.Com Slogan T-shirts in our possession for those of you who are interested. Click here to visit our merchandise page (and an email link that you can click on to order one). They were made for us by Revolution Clothing, Inc., a very cool local business who f**kin' rock out loud. Local bands should contact them for all their Rock Wearables. They are *Awesome*. Thanks, Matt!
We're looking into just about every conceivable way of putting our name on cool merchandise for our listeners. Keep an eye out for more stuff. If you have any classic or current pictures with people in 97 Underground gear, we'd like to put them on this website in some fashion.

| Q |
What is 97Underground.Com's policy on advertising? |
|
Eventually, advertising may find its way into 97Underground.Com's future.
As much as we're all about the music first and foremost, we are currently subsidizing this station with funds from our own pockets. And believe us, it's not cheap to do this the right way (as we believe we are). One possibility is to create a public radio style-atmosphere in which listeners can contribute funds in exchange for promotional considerations rather than corporate ads.
You can be assured if advertising becomes a necessary evil, it will not get in the way of the music and will mesh stylistically with 97Underground.Com's vision. We try to approach everything we do from your point of view. Because, after all, each of us at 97Underground.Com are music fans too. And ain't it the music that matters most? Log On and Crank It Up!
