Vintage Vault with Good Hair Mark
Good Hair Mark

Good Hair Mark  grew up in a house where his parents filled the rooms with the sounds of R&B, Elvis Presley, and The Temptations, unknowingly laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong obsession with music.

That obsession kicked into high gear on August 24, 1980, when Mark attended his very first concert—Journey at the Capitol Centre in Largo, Maryland. The next day, he walked into a record store and bought his first album, Departure by Journey. From that moment on, there was no turning back. Allowance money disappeared into albums and music magazines. Liner notes were read like novels. Concerts and late-night FM radio broadcasts were recorded on cassette, and every new discovery fueled an ever-growing passion for rock and roll.

By the mid-1980s, Mark become a regular at Baltimore's legendary rock club, Hammerjacks. Night after night, he experienced unforgettable performances from bands like Poison, Cinderella, The Ramones, Ozzy Osbourne, Quiet Riot, Guns N' Roses, The Black Crowes, Joan Jett, and countless others. It wasn't uncommon to cross paths with members of Mötley Crüe, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, and other touring legends before or after they packed venues like the Baltimore Civic Center and the Capitol Centre. Hammerjacks wasn't just a club—it was home.

Through music, 'Good Hair Mark' found his identity, his community, and a family of fellow rock fans. In the early 1990s, he stepped behind the turntables, DJing clubs, weddings, and private events. By the 2000s, his passion had evolved into working alongside local and regional artists—hauling gear, setting up stages, assisting with photo shoots, and helping produce video projects. That dedication eventually opened the door to working behind the scenes at a Classic Rock radio station assisting in promotion and live events, bringing fans even closer to the music they loved.

Now, after decades immersed in nearly every corner of the music world, 'Good Hair Mark' is opening another chapter as the host of Vintage Vault on 97 Underground Worldwide.

Every week, Mark unlocks the vault to share the soundtrack that shaped his life—Classic Rock from the golden era featuring artists like Triumph, AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, Foghat, Judas Priest, KISS, and many more. And every once in a while... you'll hear a little Journey—the band that started it all.

Turn it up, crack open a cold tasty beverage, and take a ride through the Vintage Vault, where the music is timeless, and rock and roll never gets old.
